2007-2008 Album:

Middle School Students attended an assembly on Oral Health given by four students in the Dental Hygiene program at UMKC [the University of Missouri at Kansas City]. This was held in the Student Center Nov. 7 from 12 - 2pm.  Our students went through four stations learning about proper tooth brushing and flossing techniques, the dangers of piercing lips or tongues, how smoking and smokeless tobacco can affect teeth and general health.  Afterwards we had a question & answer session with the Dental Hygienists.  Students re-told what they had learned and shared expectations for their own lifestyle choices.  Parents will be proud of their children who all plan to remain tobacco-free and not to use body piercing!  Our 8th graders who attended a similar workshop last year were able to gain a deeper level of understanding this year.
