Multi-Purpose Sports Court

To: Friend of Deaf Children and the Deaf Community
In two years, the Kansas School for the Deaf will be celebrating its 150th anniversary. What started as the "Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb" in 1861 is now respected nationwide as a quality elementary and secondary school for deaf children and youth. The school has been at its current location in Olathe since 1866. As a proud graduate of the class of 1956 and lifelong supporter of KSD, I am writing to invite you to participate in the sesquicentennial celebration of the Kansas School for the Deaf and to become a part of KSD history.
A number of special activities are being planned along with the issuance of two special publications, a History of the Kansas School for the Deaf (which has been commissioned and is currently being written), and a KSD Sesquicentennial Celebration Commemorative Program Book. Your contribution will support these publications as well as special receptions and events. Your support will be recognized in the Commemorative Program Book.
Another special project of the Alumni Association is the building of a multi-purpose athletic and game court for students, to be completed in time for the sesquicentennial celebration. This will cost about $50,000. Contributors will be recognized on a special plaque to be installed at the site. (Contribute $50,000 and it will be named for you or your company!)
This is an exciting time for us. Please share in this special celebration.
Your Truly,
Kenneth L. Milner
