DCMP

Captioned Films and Video

The Described and Captioned Media Program provides services designed to support and improve the academic achievement of students who are blind, visually impaired, deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind. These services include (1) a library of free-loan described and captioned educational media, (2) a clearinghouse of information related to educational media access, (3) a gateway to Internet resources related to accessibility, and (4) a center for training and evaluation of any service provider desiring to appear on the DCMP's approved lists of description and captioning service providers. There are no user registration or service fees. The DCMP is funded by the U. S. Department of Education and administered by the National Association of the Deaf.

ASL Pro

ASL Pro was created to be a free resource for the classroom teacher. Teachers can create accounts and personalize a quiz for their students' use, then take them into a lab and let them practice seeing models other than their own teacher. Designed to be a supplement to an ASL course.

Kansas Association of the Deaf The specific purpose of the Association is for mutual assistance and encouragement of Deaf people and to secure moral, intellectual and social improvement of their education and vocational opportunities, to promote measures tending to better the condition and standing in society at large of Deaf persons; and for the strength and usefulness which union gives the Deaf persons of Kansas who have organized themselves into this Association to further the above purposes.
