Library

Hi, I'm Mona Huggins. This is my thirteenth year to be the librarian at KSD. EH LibraryThe campus has two libraries: one in the Emery Elementary building, and the other in the Roberts secondary building. The mission of Kansas State School for the Deaf Library Media Center is to promote lifelong usage of ideas and information.

Please become familiar with this website. The links on the left-hand side should be very useful in helping you, as a patron, locate research information as well as pleasure activities.

A word about the Visual Story Reading program; publisher contracts for selling these videotapes will expire on December 31, 2010. If you wish to purchase any of our videotapes for your home, school, church, or business, please do so at your earliest convenience. The videotapes are $8.00 per title plus shipping. Also, KSD can not reformat the videotapes to another medium; however, after purchase, the buyer certainly has the right to reformat any videotape(s) for archival purposes.

I want to speak directly about the videos you will see on this link. These short videos were taken with FLIP video cameras that were purchased with R.A.C.E. grant money. These cameras are newer technology that will someday be a common household item, but for now, most of our students have never seen one. The goal of the grant is to provide students the opportunity to create, film, edit, and publish short videos related to their experiences in the library. Most of the current video clips were taken by me, but as the students complete their work, it will be added to this link.

EH LibraryHope you enjoy the KSD Library home page and will use it often. Please check back often as more links and video clips will be added. Also, please save this site as one of your favorites!
