KSD WINS GPSD ACADEMIC BOWL IN MINNESOTA!
On March 30, Kansas School for the Deaf Academic Bowl team journeyed to Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf for the two-day competition with seven other state schools for the Deaf for 16th annual Great Plains Schools for the Deaf Academic Bowl tournament. At the end of round-robin format, Oklahoma School for the Deaf and Kansas School for the Deaf teams were leading with high points, qualifying for the championship round. Kansas team won the championship with the score of 12 to 4, defeating Oklahoma team. It’s their second championship in a row; they won over Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf last year and 4 championships in last 7 years!
Kansas School for the Deaf Academic Bowl members are as follows: Andrea Magathan, Cole Thompson, Taylor Borucki, Kyle Pucket, and Michael Hesser (Trisha Waddell, an alternate). Their coaches are Scott Plummer and Earleene Hicks.
